Brown’s Home Services offer services that will make your vacation time less worrisome, vacation homes and rental properties less work for you while you're living away from our area, or while you're on vacation. We are a company that still, and always will, believe in customer service and satisfaction. You can count on us to be prompt and reliable ….we won’t let you down. We will send you a report and pictures of our work or photos of your home when needed. Reports will be mailed or e-mailed.

Please keep in mind you don’t have to have a running yearly contract with us in order for us to do any kind of work or service for you. If you want your lawn mowed just once, or once every month, we’ll do it. All you have to do is call us anytime you need a service provided, or email us, we'll arrange for payment of services, and we’ll take care of your home service needs. A contract just means we will do it on a time-schedule that is agreeable to you. Of course the more advance notice you give us, the more work we'll have time to do for you!

Vacation Home, First Home, Second Home: Preparation for Your Arrival

We know how it is to worry about your home away from home. We could not find someone to do the simple things we needed done prior to getting to our vacation retreat. Now we’ve moved here to Franklin, North Carolina permanently, and we need to work. What better job than taking care of other’s homes while they are not here? We are adults and responsible people. We can supply you with references.

Once we would arrive at our second home, we were faced with lawn maintenance and various cleaning, setup and preparation for the next two or three days time. Instead of you using up your first few days of vacation time to clean and repair, let us do that work for you so you can enjoy more of your vacation!

Work you can have us do for you in advance of your arrival:

• Clean and air out your place.
• Put your clean linens on beds - if you have to arrive late, wouldn't it be great to walk in and have your beds all ready?
• Check to make sure the water is running properly, toilets flushing, and turn on the hot water heater.
• Set up your patio furniture if it is stored away.
• Sweep your porches and patios of debris.
• Winterize your home.

• Any work you would normally have to do upon your arrival, arrange to have us do it for you!
  
  

Will you be having friends or family use your home? We are available to help you help your visitors in using your vacation home, to feel welcome, to make their stay special. We can pick up anything you'd like, to help you say to your friends, "Welcome to our Home in the mountains."

In addition to the above regular home preparation services, consider having us do one or more of these extra services:

• Buying flowers, groceries, cheeses & wine, or just some fresh fruit to set out as a welcome gift for their arrival.
• Placing a dish of local mountain made candy treats on the sofa table, or a few chocolates on the bedside table or pillows.
• Make reservations for your guests at a local restaurant, and place a notecard on the table to notify them of the reservation.
• A unique gift idea is letting us deliver some local bags of dirt to sift through, in hopes of finding a nice ruby or sapphire!
• Anything you'd like to make your house guests happy, just ask us!

Will you need some last minute lawn and yard care before yours or your guests arrival? Most people have some kind of lawn and yard care service for their vacation homes during the weeks they are away. If you have need of this service on a full-time basis, please let us know. When you or your friends are preparing to visit your home, there isn't necessarily someone available to mow the lawn, prune unsightly bushes or trees in the time frame before the planned arrival. For assistance with lawn and landscaping care, give us a call.

 

Rental Home Services & Homes for Sale

Do you rent your second home when you're not using it? Are you trying to sell your vacation home while you're living out of town? We are here to make your life a bit easier when you're not local to your rental property home or when you have a house for sale in our area of Franklin, NC.

For those who rent their places by the day, week or month, we can:

• Prepare & clean rental homes for the next renter, check appliances, furnace and a/c, toilets flushing, water running hot & cold.
• Check on your renters.
• Let potential renters in to view the home.

For those trying to sell their homes:

• We can let in the Real Estate agents or brokers you're presently working with, or considering hiring.
• We can let in your potential buyers, when you're selling the home yourself.
• Let in a contractor to do any necessary pre-sale work.

Home Security Checking Services

We offer home security checks for your peace of mind. If you'd just like someone to drive to your home, walk around the home and inspect windows and doors for being locked and secure, we can do this service for you. Sometimes it just makes you feel better knowing there are periodic checks of your home when you've got to be away for extended periods of time. Additionally, if we should have a bad freeze during the winter, you can send us a key to check for pipe bursts and water damage in your home.

If we should find any damages to your home, we will do any needed light maintenance or if there is urgent care we can call you straight away to discuss the problems and how to fix it even if just temporarily until you can determine how best to take care of it. We will email you pictures of your home from our house check if there is any need of photographs.

 

Storm Checks & Debris Clean-up

Would you like us to check for damage after a storm? You may enjoy peace of mind when we can tell you exactly how your home looks after a storm, as well as send you any necessary photos. We will do any needed lawn maintenance, piling debris at the curb for curbside pickup. While there, we'll do a check around the house and send pictures to you after we are through. If there is any damage in need of urgent repair we will fix it - or take care of it temporarily until you can determine how you'd like to proceed with repairs. We can take care of any problems after a storm like trees falling on decks, across roads and driveways, or any other problems that may have been caused by the storm.

 

Brief Vacation Time - Home Care and Checks

Even if your local, two or three weeks is a long time to be away on vacation. Again, for your “Peace of Mind” give us a call or email us and we’ll go by and check on your place to be sure the home is secure.

Our other vacation services, which you may need even for a short vacation, include:

• Watering your plants
• Weeding yor garden
• Picking garden vegetables or tree fruits that may have fallen or are becoming over-ripe
• Adding water to your hot tub, spa, jacuzzi or swimming pool when the water level is low
• Picking up free "penny saver" papers and such from your driveway - when these pile up, they are a sure sign you're not at home!

 

Home Repairs & Yard Care Services

Odd jobs and repairs? Just ask! We can repair - clean - paint your deck, mow your lawn, weed the flower beds, fix a screen. There are many services we may provide for you, so please feel free to ask us.

 

 

 

 

Oh and by the way, we prefer not to work on Sundays, but we will.
